ISOC.Si has participated on the annual meeting of EU ISOC chapters and on the 5th SEEDIG conference.
The 2019 European Chapters Meeting took place from 9-10 May in Bucharest, Romania, following the 5th SEEDIG (South Eastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance) Conference.
The event gathered around 30 participants representing 20 Internet Society Chapters from Europe. The meeting agenda contained discussions about Consolidation on the Internet Economy, Encryption, Consumer IoT Privacy & Security, and the Internet of Food. The Chapters’ presence on social media was also broadly discussed. Dr.tanja Pavleski represented ISOC Slovenija
During the meeting, some Chapters shared their current and future projects, but also lessons learned from past projects. The SLO Chapter was represented by Dr. Tanja Pavleska, who was actively involved in the debates and shared the Chapter’s stance on how the ISOC Action Plan could be put in practice in the region. She emphasized the need for networking and coordination of the activities among the regional Chapters and acknowledged the need for greater outreach, as well as effective presence of the Chapter on the social media platforms.
